| Scholarships
Purpose:
To encourage and enable representatives from communities in the Nebraska
Development Network-Central Region to attend educational and professional
development activities in Nebraska.
Eligible Activities:
Nebraska Rural Institute
Use of Funds:
Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, travel and related expenses.
Scholarships are on a reimbursement basis. (Receipts will be required
to prove actual expenses. Mileage does not require a receipt and
will be paid at the current state rate.
Scholarship Monies:
Eligible applicants may receive a maximum of $200 scholarship who
have not received funding in the past two years and whose organization/employer
normally does not fund training due to modest budgets. Four $200
scholarships are available for the 2007 Nebraska Rural Institute.
Applications:
The Nebraska Development Network-Central Region is responsible for
accepting applications from individuals from communities within the
service area and determining the eligibility of applicants.
Reporting:
Scholarship recipients will submit a brief written report including
a line-item expense form to the Nebraska Development Network-Central
Region after attending the Rural Institute. Receipts for actual expenses
will be attached to the report.
Timeliness / Approval of Application:
Whenever possible, scholarship applications should be submitted no
later than 30 days prior to the Rural Institute. For 2007 the application
deadline is August 18th. Decisions on recipients will be made by
the Scholarship Committee and/or the Executive Committee depending
on timing.
